Autumn: Seasonal ingredients

Autumn is the season for the forest and swamp berries. Fruits from the orchards are also at their best, so make sure you prep your reserves for the upcoming winter as well.


Preserving and curing can sometimes make an ingredient better, so experiment with your spices too!

Try preserving sour berries such as lingonberry and cranberry in water: fill a sterilized jar with cleaned berries and cover with water, keeps in room temperature for months as the berries ferment and turn purple.
